SMOKED TROUT DIP
This dip is a tasty accompaniment to crackers or bread and makes for a great appetizer when served using Smoke In Chimneys’ smoked trout. The creamy texture and savory flavor of the dip perfectly complement the smoky and rich taste of the trout, making for a delicious and satisfying snack.
Ingredients:
1 -1 1/2 pounds Smoke In Chimneys’ Smoked Trout
3 ounces of cream cheese
1 tablespoon of minced chives
2 tablespoons sour cream
2 teaspoons horseradish
2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
1 minced shallot
1 tablespoon lemon juice or to taste
The General’s Infused Salt to taste
The General’s Hot sauce to taste
Directions:
To prepare the dip, begin with deboning the smoked trout. First, remove the center section and then finely chop the trout, ensuring that any missed bones are removed. Place the chopped trout in a small mixing bowl. Add cream cheese, sour cream, horseradish, and mustard to the bowl. Mince the chives and shallots and then add them to the mixture. Mix the dip thoroughly and add lemon juice, salt, and hot sauce to taste. The dip can be served with crackers or bread.
